Platform for People's Oeuvres
Social / Platform
A platform for people's oeuvres. Share things you want to make or wish you could make, that you're open to someone else helping with or doing instead. Because if you just want it to exist, why not?
Human-Tech Art Series
Arts / Cultural Commentary
Artworks of any media about what it feels like to be human in this period right now, where technology seems to be threatening our humanity for the first time. Or is it the first time? Link to my history post at that question. A great deal of art of all kinds to be made about what it feels like to watch computers do things that are ours. Is there a jealousy aspect, like only one of us could have it? Or as if their presence makes it lesser? Worth tackling whatever this knot is and turning that untangling into art. Not just logical arguments about whether it is good or bad, ethical or unethical, helpful or harmful, but exploring the feeling itself.
Life's Work Platform
Legacy / Digital Archive
A platform for Life's Work, for people who feel nervous about mortality and about their work or the things they've been working on going with them. Especially those who have nothing published, who don't have things published. Not just written work, but all sorts. Things they've made, pictures they like, maybe of themselves. Just something to say: this is who I am, this is what I saw, this is what I did. Remember me.
Global South Patronage Programs
Community / Development
Patronage programs across the global south, not just in major western cities. Grants, stipends, residencies etc. Incentivize people to do ambitious things, and pursue moonshots in the arts, research, business, and so on. Maybe something really special is there that might otherwise not get developed. At least give people a chance to learn something beyond survival and meet other ambitious people. I'm doing this at a very small scale in Lagos, Nigeria with Miniforge. I'm sure others are doing similar things around the world, but I don't have a list.
